Cuernavaca is a city of about 1 million people. It is known as the “City of Eternal Spring” and is located about 90 miles south of Mexico City. The name, Cuernavaca, was given to it by the Spaniards who could not seem to pronounce the Aztec name Cuauhnauhuac which is Nahuatl for “city near the trees”. The city is full of history, both Aztec and Colonial, and is home to over 100 language institutes.
Our ECS will be focused on the culture of this area of Mexico. We will explore the sites, sounds and food on a daily basis while working on our communicative skills in Spanish.

Hola chicos!! Estoy en la clase con Nick Gardiner y esperamos que esten bien. La verdad es que ayer no pudimos hablar mucho pero le mando unos consejos. Estudiar otro idioma es muy cansador por lo que traten de dormir mucho. Si es posible duerman una pequeña siesta. Tenga mucho cuidado con el agua y las comidas de la calle. Bueno espero noticias. es la comida buena?
La comida en Cuernavaca es muy buena. La senora de mi casa cocina muy bien. Yo como friholes, tortillas, y salsa con chillie. Mi comida favorita son las quezadillas de pollo.
Cuernavaca es una ciudad mas grande de Colorado Springs y llena de historia. Hemos visto muchos lugares en Cuernavaca como El Museo Robert Brady, un jardin, y tambien muchos museos del arte de Frida Kahlo y Diego Rivera. Mi favorita fue el Museo de Robert Brady porque fue muy brillante y tiene muchos colores, y muchas obras de arte mundial. Robert Brady fue un Americano y tambien fue un collecionista de arte de su tiempo y de epocas antiguas. Su casa es el lugar del museo.
